How we work
The same three stages on every engagement, whether it runs for a week or a year.
Before anything is built you get a short written document: what will be built, what it costs and when it lands. If the scope is not clear yet, we narrow it down together before quoting.
Work arrives in reviewable increments, not as one reveal at the end. You see progress while changing your mind is still cheap. Changes to scope get re-quoted rather than absorbed in silence.
Once software is live, someone has to keep it live. We host, monitor and update what we build, and keeping an eye on it is our job rather than yours.
Our own product
The standards we apply to client work are the ones we hold our own products to.
Launching soon
DayTally is a private, fully offline Android app for tracking the days you spend in each country. It is built for tax documentation — the 183-day rule and comparable residency thresholds — and requests no internet permission at all, so your travel history stays on the device until you export it yourself.
It is the studio's first own product and has not been released yet.
The studio
Northlight is an independent one-person studio. Every project is scoped, built and supported by the same engineer — no handoffs, no account layer, and no gap between what was promised and what ships.
The company is a Wyoming limited liability company with its registered office in Sheridan and works remotely with clients across time zones. Being small is the point: it is what makes a written scope, a direct line and a straight answer possible.
